About this service

Do you file with FMCSA for me?

No. BMC91 is a request service. The insurer that writes your coverage makes the filing.

Is the request free?

Yes, and you have no obligation to buy.

Are you part of FMCSA?

No. This site is not affiliated with FMCSA or any government agency.

Who contacts me?

A licensed agent or partner who writes motor carrier liability may contact you by phone, text or email as agreed.

How do I stop messages?

Reply STOP, ask the caller to stop, or use the privacy page form.

Filing topics

Can I file the form myself?

No. Liability filings must come from the insurer that issued the coverage.

Does the BMC-91 show my cargo coverage?

No. It covers liability. Household goods carriers need a separate cargo filing.

Is a BMC-91X better than a BMC-91?

Neither is better. Both prove liability coverage to FMCSA. The BMC-91X can also show a single layer of coverage, which the BMC-91 cannot.

Can I file less than the minimum?

No. The filing must certify at least the required minimum for your operation.

Can I run while my authority is revoked?

No. Operating interstate for hire without active authority can lead to penalties and leaves loads uninsured under the filing.

Need a liability filing on your authority?

Tell us your authority type, filing and units. A licensed agent or partner may contact you to review options.
